Established in 1974, Family Medicine Residency of Idaho's (FMRI) mission is to train outstanding broad spectrum family medicine physicians to work in underserved and rural areas. Our focus is to serve the vulnerable populations of Idaho with high quality, affordable care.
FMRI is one of the original 11 Teaching Health Centers in the U.S. that combines Graduate Medical Education and healthcare to underserved populations with 8 different clinics to choose from throughout the treasure valley. We graduate 16 broad spectrum Family Medicine Doctors and 4 Fellows each year who go on to practice medicine in Idaho and the surrounding states. Idaho's 10 Year Graduate Medical Education Plan aims to increase the amount of family medicine residency programs in Idaho with the focus in producing more family doctors and retaining more physicians to continue their practice here.
