Lone Star Circle of Care

Lone Star Circle of Care first opened in 2002, as the Georgetown Community Clinic. Until the center opened, there were no primary care resources for the uninsured and underinsured in Williamson County. Our founders wanted to create a medical home for high need community residents with limited access, and the mission of the center clearly reflected this objective, stating: “The Georgetown Community Clinic provides comprehensive, quality, cost effective primary care with dignity to individuals and families in Williamson County regardless of their ability to pay.”

The organization started with a group of diverse stewards united in the belief that accessible, quality health care should be available to all.Until the center opened, there were no primary care resources for the uninsured and underinsured in Williamson County. Beginning with a small primary care base, Lone Star Circle of Care has grown to include adult, pediatric and senior primary care, general dentistry, optometry, psychiatry and counseling, chronic disease management, low cost medications, comprehensive women’s health including labor & delivery and wellness classes.

The staff and leadership commitment to the Lone Star Circle of Care’s mission has fueled our transformation from one community clinic to a Joint Commission accredited region-wide safety net for the medically underserved with more than 25 locations providing a patient-centered health home over 90,000 Central Texans every year.
