Building a Legacy in 15 Years: The Inspiring Journey of The Jane Pauley Community Health Center (JPCHC)

Founded 15 years ago, in 2009, The Jane Pauley Community Health Center (Indianapolis, IN) is named for respected broadcast journalist and author Jane Pauley, who grew up in the area and is a powerful and impassioned mental health advocate. The health center now serves patients at 10 locations, providing over 100,000 visits per year.

While it has grown considerably, the health center remains deeply rooted in its community and continues to invest in weekly outreach and community events, sponsoring and participating in activities including Health and Wellness Days, county fairs, and the Indiana Black & Minority Health Fair. JPCHC also made recent strides in expanding its translation services to 40 language and invested in live Haitian Creole interpretation at the Shadeland OB/GYN clinic, reflecting its investment in promoting a positive and welcoming patient experience. The health center opened an on-site retail and specialty pharmacy in January 2024.

Looking forward, the JPCHC announced a major expansion slated for 2024-25 which will add 7 new sites, as well as further investment in community resources including its food pantry and nutrition education programs. The Jane Pauly Community Health Center’s inspiring journey and growth shows what a strong commitment to community-centered care, outreach, and community empowerment can achieve in just 15 years.
